ANNOUNCEMENT
REMONDIS’s operation in South Australia has reached a significant milestone, achieving certification as a verified Green Star waste contractor.
Our SA operation – spanning three locations at Wingfield, Mount Barker and Lonsdale – successfully completed independent verification against the Green Building Council of Australia’s (GBCA) Construction and Demolition Waste Reporting Criteria. This rigorous process assessed our ability to accurately report on waste collection, landfill diversion, and our commitment to directing construction and demolition waste to approved, compliant facilities.
This certification means REMONDIS can now provide local Green Star projects with the documentation required to secure credits in the Construction and Demolition Waste category. By engaging our construction waste and recycling management services, clients can earn valuable points toward Green Star ratings – while demonstrating responsible practices that prioritise recycling and reduce landfill.
At our Wingfield facility, construction waste is processed through a finger screen and further sorted to separate materials into the correct streams for recycling and disposal. Our processes maximise resource recovery, diverting recyclables from landfill. Non-recyclable materials are disposed appropriately.
With the South Australian Government continuing to emphasise sustainable building practices, Green Star ratings remain vital in delivering major projects across the state.
