REMONDIS Australia is developing a ‘Reflect’ Reconciliation Action Plan
A diverse, multi-disciplinary Working Group has been gathered from across the country
..building upon the existing relationships we have with First Nations communities, partners and colleagues
COMMUNITY
This NAIDOC Week we held the first meeting of REMONDIS Australia’s Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group, taking an important step in the collaborative process of developing our ‘Reflect’ RAP.
Our diverse, multi-disciplinary Working Group has been drawn from across our national operations and from the many colleagues who expressed their interest in helping out.
Our Working Group now includes Nathan Radley (Chair and RAP Champion), Milena Maag (RAP Project Lead), Scott Withers (First Nations Representative), Stephen Lording, Goran Grujica, Chris Gusenzow, Guy Raithby-Veall, Alicia Annable and Kiera Sanders.
This RAP is about building on the existing relationships we have with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders communities, partners and colleagues, and formalising our commitment to the communities and Country on which we live and work. It’s about listening, learning and building relationships that are respectful, sustained and mutually beneficial.
NAIDOC Week’s 2026 theme ’50 Years of Deadly’ marks five decades of NAIDOC Week and the Elders, organisers and communities who've carried it forward. We’re reminded that reconciliation is not a single event – it’s an ongoing journey, and this is REMONDIS taking our next step.
What is a RAP?
A Reconciliation Action Plan is a public, structured commitment that outlines the concrete steps an organisation will take to advance reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is built around three core pillars – Relationships, Respect, and Opportunities – and is developed in partnership with Reconciliation Australia.
REMONDIS Australia is developing a ‘Reflect’ RAP, which is the foundational stage of the RAP framework. It is designed to help us build internal awareness, establish meaningful relationships with First Nations communities, and lay the groundwork for lasting, genuine action. Once endorsed, our RAP will be published publicly on Reconciliation Australia's website as a transparent signal of our accountability.
We’re doing this because REMONDIS operates across diverse regions of Australia, delivering essential services on Country and within communities right across the nation. With around 1,200 employees and a significant presence in regions with strong First Nations communities – including across Western Australia and Queensland – we have both a responsibility and an opportunity to play a meaningful role in Australia's reconciliation movement.
